狭山池博物館主催の歴史ﾊｲｷﾝｸﾞに参加した。池や川を中心にして地元を詳しく知る良い機会になった。これからは、一本の水路でも見る目が違って来そうだ。
I took part in the field trip around the place I live. The trip was sponsored by Osaka Prefectural Sayamaike Museum. This gave me a new chance to recognize some of the rich cultural heritages of my town.
蓮池(ﾊｽｲｹ）
狭山池のすぐ北にある池。池尻村の一番低地にあって、狭山池の水が堤防から浸みだしてため池をなしているとか。写真の左手の高台が池尻城跡。
Hasuike Pond is located close to Sayama Pond but it used to have no water way into it. The water just seeped from the pond bank. Behind the pond was Ikejiri Castle.
狭間(ﾊｻﾞﾏ）神社
池尻中にある神社。江戸時代には牛頭天王社とよばれていたとか。社の中に釣り灯篭があり、享保元年（1716）「北條鍋十代公」の銘があるそうだ。
Hazama Shrine in Ikejiri-naka. The shrine was called Gozu-tennou-sha during the Edo era. Though I’ve lived here for 38 years, this is my first visit there.
狭山駅横の西池尻墓地
南海高野線のトンネルをくぐり、線路沿いに狭山駅に向って歩く。中世後期の墓石が残り、入り口に天保8年（1837）の六十六部回国供養塔（写真左部）がある。
Near Nankai Sayama Station is Nishiikejiri cemetery. At the entrance is a stone monument built in 1837.
太満池(ﾀｲﾏｲｹ）
ちょっと見ない間にずいぶん堤防が整備されていて、びっくりした。この池は天平4年（732）に狭山下池としてつくられたとか。池の水は北野田村、南野田村、阿弥(ｱﾐ）村の3村が利用していた。狭山池の中樋から流れる川が太満池に注ぎ込む場所近くには池の水量を測る「定水分量石(ｼﾞｮｳｽｲﾌﾞﾝﾘｮｳｲｼ）が池中に立つ。
Taima-ike Pond. I was surprised to see the pond had been so neatly refurbished. According to the guide, the pond was made in 732 as the secondary pond of Sayama-ike. The water flows into the fields in Kitanoda, Minaminoda and Ami in Sakai City.

大鳥池も池尻村にあり、東野村、菅生村、平尾村の用水路となっている。この池へは、東除川から水が入っている。

牛瀧さん
地元に住みながら、牛瀧さんの存在を今日初めて知った。大きな楠木の根元に祠(ﾎｺﾗ)がある。大峰山や伊勢参りに行った人を歓待する坂迎えの行事をこの木の下でしたとか。へ～え。知らなかった。この大楠はしょっちゅう目にしているのに！参加して良かった。
Ushitaki -san. A very small shrine is just at the foot of a big camphor tree. I'd seen the tree many times before I realized the existence of the shrine today.
東池尻墓地
古文書に「ひや田」の墓地として書かれているとのこと。五軒家（富田林）の人もここに埋葬されている。

東除川を越えるひつ池水路
ひつ池の水は「上地(ｳﾜﾁﾞ）」と呼ばれ、池尻村の用水として使われる。ひつ池から流れ出た水は今はこの青いパイプを通って、東除川を越えて行く。

我が家のすぐ後にある新池からの水は、これまた、東除川の上を細いパイプで越え、東池尻に流れていく。新池は江戸時代初期には既に存在したらしい。僕が当地へ来たときはまだ、新池を2分する細い堤防があったが、じきに片方の池は埋められ、巨大マンションが建ったのだ。
The water way from Shin-ike also runs through the pipe above the Higashi-yoke River.On the ground reclaimed half of the Shin-ike stands a condo.

行きつけのスーパーのパスト。その横を流れる川は住宅地を通り、新池の西を回って上記の青いパイプに至るのだ。狭山池を初め、色々な池が複雑に水路を作って、村々に注ぎ込んでいる。

楠と牛瀧さんのことを、ようやく記事にしました。
一つお尋ねしたいことがあります。
祠を持つ巨樹のこと、面白いなぁと関心を持っています。大阪市内ではミイサンが祭られているところが多いような気がします。
牛瀧さんというのは、牛の神さんだと思うのです。地域によって巨樹に祭る神さんが違うんだなぁととても興味を持ちました。
ここでご紹介くださった「牛瀧さん」と呼ばれる楠はどのあたりにあるのでしょうか？住所や目安となる建物、道路など教えていただければ幸いです。どうぞよろしくお願いします。
